Vaughn Harrison

Vaughn HarrisonBorn in Kelowna, BC but raised in Aurora, ON, Vaughn grew up sailing at Stony Lake Yacht Club, the home of many previous Olympic sailors and a program catering to the development of high performance youth sailors in Laser 2s, 29ers, and Lasers.

Vaughn excelled in the SLYC program, and worked his way through the CYA coaching accreditation to achieve his current Orange qualification. This allowed him to successfully coach the SLYC High Performance team for two years.

Vaughn then went on to coach the Laser Race Team of RCYC and the 420 collegiate Queens University Sailing team, the RCYC High Performance Team alongside Chris Cook and Dan Cunningham.

To further develop his coaching and racing skills, Vaughn has been training and racing in the World Cup circuit which put him in Miami, Netherlands and Estonia.

In the North American circuit, Vaughn has accomplished 3rd place at both US Nationals and CORK.

Vaughn now uses the International Sailing Academy as his home for his 2012 Olympic Campaign.
